Trying To Revive a Loved One
Dream of Giving Dad CPR
I was told last year that my dad has untreatable cancer. I keep having a dream that I am performing CPR on him but I never see more because I wake up crying.
Main Life Issues:
Dad told me about the cancer. Also work, home repair problems.
Someone keeps tryign to help another survive.
Giving CPR: Trying to restore someone’s life, helping another to breath.
Wake up crying: Strong reaction that overshadows everything, feeling bad.
What it Means:
The dream mirrors how you feel - you wish you could turn things around, help him become healthy again, and get him to live. Your head may know this may be impossible, but your heart and feelings keep wanting him to get better and to live, to see his live restored.
At the same time, your dad may represent your own strengths. As you give him CPR, the dream shows that you manage to keep going forward, despite a lot of challenges. It shows you keep finding strength to keep going.
Bottom Line: The dream is a mirror of your feelings; accepting that you will lose a loved one is very difficult and painful. At the same time, the dream comes as an encouragement. This too shall pass.
