Making a Sandwich
Interrupted While Making a Sandwich
I had a dream that I was making a sandwich. People kept interrupting me, non-stop, and asking me to do things. And no matter what, I couldn't say no.
Main Life Issues:
Someone allows others to impose and accomplishes little.
Sandwich: Something that nourishes.
Making a sandwich: Taking care of oneself; meeting one’s needs.
Constant interruptions: Obstacles to meeting goals.
Others ask for help: Requests that sidetrack.
Could not say no: Inability to draw the line; letting others impose.
Saying yes no matter what: Lack of discrimination; an inability to draw the line for self and others.
What the dream Means:
The dream suggests you have a hard time saying “no” and asserting yourself. It shows that by letting others distract you and control your life, you don’t get what you need and want.
The dream is an invitation to learn to say no and assert yourself in a positive manner. For example, you can say “I’d love to, but have other commitments”. Make a a commitment to have time for yourself, and that statement will be true. People will take no for an answer if you say it kindly and yet, like you mean it, and you may need to practice.
Bottom Line: At age sixteen, your first priority should be to look after yourself by studying and developing your talents. Once your needs and responsibilities are met, you can choose to give others a hand. Otherwise, as the dream shows, you dissipate your energies, feel annoyed, and get nowhere.
