Red and White Plastic Spoons
There were rows of tables and people were sitting down and eating. I took it upon myself to hand out plastic spoons to everyone. As I passed them out, I noticed a white spoon and kept it for myself; the rest of the spoons were red. Someone saw how I kept the white one and appeared to object. Without being defensive, I just said that I want the white one. And since I was handing out the spoons, I felt I could have the red one and was not about to give it up.
Main Life Issues:
Addiction, getting in touch with my real self.
Someone interacts with others in a kind manner, knows what they want and stands up for what they want.
Restaurant: A place of nurturing, getting what you need.
A spoon: A tool for taking in what you need and want.
Plastic items: Objects that are temporary, flexible; a metaphor for transition, what is changing.
The color white: Renewal, starting fresh, spirituality.
The color red: Often a symbol of war, aggression, assertive energy.
Handing out things: Reaching out to others, being the person who is in control and making decisions. In this case, a metaphor for reaching a healthy give-and-take while interacting with others.
