Spider Bite Dream
I was on a date and we went to a diner. When I walked in, I walked into a spider web and a big, clear white spider came down onto my shoulder and I knocked it off. The people in the diner tell me I still have spiders on me which start biting my arms, and I knock them off. My date says "They aren't poisonous" but my arms start to swell black and blue with open sores. My date drives me around looking for a hospital, but we could not find one.
Happy, then afraid.
Main Life Issues:
Someone minimizes what’s happening to another who is under attack, tries to help, but does not succeed.
On a date: An interaction with someone, a relationship.
In a diner: A place where expect to receive nourishment, care.
Spider web: Something designed to trap and destroy.
Clear white spider: Something worrisome that one can see through.
Knocking off spiders: Helping oneself.
Spider bites: Attacks by small creatures.
Words “they aren’t poisonous”: Minimizing something disturbing.
What it Means:
The story shows you in a situation where you think you are safe and looked after, but those around you don’t protect or help you when under pain and duress. That may be how you actually feel in life, and may reflect what is true, namely, that you can’t rely on those around you. Though that can feel disappointing, the dream is an indirect message to accept your circumstances and help yourself, rather than rely on others. It also suggests that you trust your own instincts, rather than listen to those around you.
Bottom Line: The dream invites you to overcome difficulties by helping yourself rather than waiting on or relying on others. Even when people love you (and sometimes they don’t), they can’t always help. Life works best if you can stand on your own two feet.
