Killing Birds and Getting Angry
Last night I found myself killing birds in my dream. First, I saw a crow trying to harm me and I killed it. Then I killed a butterfly and then, a parrot. After that I got annoyed at an elderly person and felt guilty. I don't understand what that means.
I am trying to regain my confidence, trying to get things back to the way they once were.
Restless and confused
Someone at first defends themselves against an actual aggressor yet continues to act aggressively when not in danger and even targets the helpless and vulnerable. OR, stated differenty, one could say: Someone starts on a good track then overdoes a good thing.
Killing: In this case, an aggressive act, intially in self defense.
Crow: An aggressive, wiley creature.
Butterfly: A gentle creature, something transformed.
What it Means:
The dream shows someone overdoig a reasonable act of self defense and not knowig where to stop. The story depicts how someone lets an attitude get out of hand so that a good trait becomes destructive.
To gain confidence, you are trying assert yourself which is a valid thing to do, when used appropriately. But, doing so can become intoxicating and when it gets out of hand, it can lead to aggressive behavior when used indiscriminately in all situations. Keep in mind that self assertion can also be achieved with humor, good will and kind words.
Bottom Line: A dream exaggerates to get a point across. The dream shows how something used sparingly and with discretion can be good, or if it gets out of hand, can do harm and lead to feeling guilty. Your self esteem will feel better by incorporating a gentler approach.
