Visting My Ex’s House
I am at My Ex’s Home
I was in my ex’s house; it had a screened in breezeway. My ex opened the door to let me in without saying a word and then returned to the art studio to work, with his back turned to me. His assistant was working on an art piece and one of his ex-girlfriends was on her hands and knees scrubbing the floor. They looked up to acknowledge me, but said nothing. Everyone silently accepted that I was supposed to be there but said nothing to make me feel welcome.
Next I was in the kitchen preparing food to be cooked on a barbeque in the breezeway, then in a living room with two old women and his daughter. One of the old women was dressed in black, looking very much like a stereotypical Italian grandmother who was in mourning; she was holding a rosary. We talked; she had a deck of Tarot cards.
Then the next thing I knew I was in a lush plaza shaded by many trees yet the sun was shining directly down on me; my ex’s daughter was walking ahead of me near a fountain, and turned to say something to me as I woke up.
Had a turbulent ending with ex, legal issues arose out of broken contracts and promises. We have no interaction now.
Someone sees how a situation has changed to acceptance.
Grandmother in Black: Honoring a death; death as change, hence, honoring a change. In this dream, a way of reviewing the past, mourning it and letting go.
Rosary Beads: A spiritual tool. In this dream, suggests that keeping a spiritual focus will help the dreamer let her anger about her past relationship, go.
Tarot Cards: Future trends, suggestions for the future.
Cooking in Breezeway: Creating nurturing items that can be aired. In this dream, a metaphor for airing what dreamer feels about her ex.
Tarot Cards: Focus on the future, what comes next.
What it Means:
The dream describes a visit with someone with whom you had difficult interactions. However, the dream now portrays the interactions as civil best, or at worst, non existent (you are invisible).
The dream tells you that the worst is behind you, and that you can move on with your live. The sunshine and lush vacation scenes that follow the scenes of mourning, suggest that by accepting what is without malice, as does your ex does in the dream, you can make the future brighter.
Bottom Line: The dream brings to your attention that by keeping a spiritual focus (the rosary beads) you can now relate to your ex in a new way, without rancor. It suggests he may be ready to be civil, though not warm and friendly. The dream invites you to do the same.
