Death of Children
Title:
The death of my fiancé’s children.
THE DREAM:
My fiancé has three children by two different mothers. The middle daughter lives with us, an older daughter is with her mum and the youngest, a son, is with the other mum. In my dream we move to the small town where my fiancé grew up because he gets a fantastic job offer there. In the dream his father still lives in the town but is moving out of his big house into a smaller one, so we are moving into the big house. As we unpack, we see a newspaper article that both of his other children have died in separate circumstances. It was very vivid, sad and extremely disturbing.
Someone starts out with transitions that are very favorable, then encounters painful circumstances.
Death: Generally a symbol for change, great change.
Child, children: Often a symbol for new projects, new beginnings, new energies, and on-going or long term responsibilities. Since the children in this dream meet an unhappy end, it can refer to hopes that are dashed, related to new ventures.
Move back to town where grew up: Getting back to one’s roots, reestablishing values or standards.
Move to a big house: A new space, excellent opportunities.
What it Means:
The dream is not a message about your fiancé’s children or their death. Dreams often foreshadow changes on the horizon; this one suggests excellent opportunities may arise for you such as a new home or work advancement, whether for you or your fiancée. However, there will also be painful challenges or circumstances that are beyond your control. If the dream were about death or illness, it more likely relates to the elderly parents you are supporting, or to other challenging, unforeseen events.
Bottom Line: The dream speaks of opportunity and subsequent challenge as a heads up to prepare you for a roller coaster ride.
