Dead Husband Dies
I Dream of My Dead Husband Dying Again
I dreamed that my late husband who died thirteen weeks ago, was dying. In the dream, I was sitting at the foot of his hospital bed and the doctors were working on him; I could see his belly rising up and down as he breathed. I was trying not to look at his face because I knew he would die, but I couldn't help myself; I looked, and he was smiling. He lifted his head and looked at me, smiling, then gestured as if he was punching me and died; the time was 22:26 which I saw on a digital clock.
In real life when he died, I had been outside the ICU and was not with him at the moment he passed because doctors were trying to save him from internal bleeding, bringing on hemorrhagic shock and liver failure. Because he was under anesthesia, he would not have been smiling.
Did I have this dream because I worried that I wasn’t there and didn’t have the chance to say goodbye?
I felt sad but good that he was smiling and was calm in death.
Main Life Issues:
Sudden and unexpected death of husband at age 41.
Someone relives a sad experience.
Late husband: Actual person; sometimes a symbol of a woman’s own strength.
At foot of husband’s hospital bed: Staying close to a loved one.
Saw belly rise and fall as he breathed: Signs of life; aware that someone is still okay.
Saw my husband smiling: Noticing that someone is happy and feels good.
Husband gestured as if punching me: Someone aggressively reaches out toward a loved one.
Saw that my husband had died: Being near a loved one as they let go, as they die.
What the dream Means:
Many who’ve had Near Death Experiences (NDE’s) believe that life continues on and that those who have died can come back once in a while and visit. Some dreams are not dreams, they are actual experiences remembered during sleep because a dream is the only vehicle of memory while asleep. Seeing a loved one appear in a dream after they pass on, happens to many.
It sounds as if this was an actual visit. The story tells you that your husband wants you to know that he died peacefully, that he is okay and still loves you, and that he does not want you to feel bad that you were not beside him in those last moments.
Bottom Line: This was a dream visit from your husband to reassure and console you, because love never dies. Pray for him; our prayers can help those who have passed on, on their journey.
