I See My Mother Drown Then Come Back to Live
Death of My Mother
In a dream I saw my mother drown but the "how" part is not very clear. After she drowns, me and my younger brother leave for Japan, though I have never been there. We stay in some kind of boarding school and I am depressed, carrying a liquor bottle.
Suddenly my mom comes to the school. I run and give her a really tight hug and tell her that I love her.
Relieved after seeing my mom alive.
Main Life Issues:
Career; not able to concentrate on college studies.
Someone is far from loved ones after losing a main support person, looks for consolation, then is reunited with loved one.
Death: A metaphor for change; in this case, a symbol for loss.
Mother: Represents feeling loved and supported.
Water: Water often represents emotions, mirrors how you feel.
Japan: A foreign country; feeling out of place, where one does not fit in.
Liquor: Looking for consolation; running from feelings.
I run to mom and hug her: Feeling loved and appreciated; showing love and appreciation.
What the dream Means:
The dream shows you feel a bit stranded and need to feel loved and supported in order to function. If that love comes from your family, make sure you stay close to them to get the emotional support you need. Check out other such as groups and friends who can provide that feeling of being loved and supported; spend time with them.
Bottom Line: To build a life and career, you must feel supported and loved, and know who you are. That may be your first task, in order to complete college studies. Make sure you live a well rounded life and spend time with others, so that you can get that support.
Thank you. That was really helpful.
