Free and Professional Dream Analysis and What Dreams Mean
DO DREAMS TELL THE TRUTH?
YES, BUT ... Dream messages tell you what is true, but first you have to interpret the dream correctly. Because most dreams are about you and your life -- the message must match what is going on in your life. The message can be about events, relationships, feelings, activities or attitudes. Otherwise, the interpretation is likely off the mark.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS. When analyzing a dream, put aside what you think the dream may mean or what you would like it to mean. It is tempting to think that you instantly know what a dream means, but that can lead to an incorrect conclusion. Whether new to dreams or experienced, use a tool like the Five Step Technique which allows you to take a step back and see the overall picture before reaching a conclusion. Your initial hunch may be correct. Or, you may discover a meaning that makes more sense than you originally had guessed.
For example, a dream about winning a lottery is rarely about winning money, though on rare occasions it may be true. More often, a dream about a winning lotto ticket says you are a winner in some other way like career advancement, a new relationship, or an opportunity. If your only focus is winning money, you will miss the point and be disappointed.
MOST DREAMS ARE SYMBOLIC. Most dreams are metaphors and, like a game of Charades, the people and objects in the dream portray something else to steer you toward other, similar meanings. However, symbols are what we use to convey real truths and meanings, as do dreams.
