Repeated Nightmares About Death and Hangings
I keep dreaming of death and it is always someone close to me who dies or is hurt. For example, I walk into a room and see my brothers and mother hanging. That is the worst one to date but I dream such dreams every night. Thanks for your help.
Angry and upset
Some one regularly sees loved ones as badly hurt or in terrible shape.
A Hanging: Someone punished or degraded or dead. Can be a metaphor for "left hanging" or not having any stable footing, no stability in life.
Death and Dying: Generally metaphors for change or a huge transformation or challenge. In this case, may suggest witnessing constant damage or hurt, e.g. in feelings or words.
What it Means:
I suspect you are very sensitive and caring, as wonderful traits, but they can be difficult in a challenging world. Sensitive and creative people often have constant nightmares. Dreams sometimes portray how you see the world and such nightmares are a way of saying: “The world is a place that hurts”. One task of dreams is to help you digest your feelings, especially the ones that cause you distress. So these nightmares are like digesting a meal of painful experiences or emotions and are helping you process painful feelings.
Bottom Line: Dreams exaggerate to make a point, and rarely portray actual events. These nightmares likely reflect a deeply sensitive nature. However, if there are serious situations in your life that are causing you trauma or distress, consulting a counsellor can be helpful.
