Grass Grows in My Hand
I See Grass Growing in My Hand
A blade of grass is sprouting out of the centre of the palm of my left hand. I pull on it, wanting to take it out, and with each tug I can feel it detaching from my bones and flesh, as if it’s rooted there. The dream ends before I pull it all out.
Confused and shocked.
Main Life Issues:
Trouble financially as well as with my parents.
Someone tries to uproot something that does not belong there and sees that it’s not easy to do.
Grass: Something that provides a cushion for one’s path, like parents.
Grass in hand: Something out of place, not where it should be.
What it Means:
The dream is a metaphor for your attempts to detach feelings and your life from that of your parents. It’s an image of outgrowing the environment your parents provided, and the attempt to spread your wings. Yet as you take steps to do so, you discover you have deep feelings and attachments to your parents and the life they gave you.
Bottom Line: The dream is inviting you to define your independence in order to find it and own it. The dream mirrors your growing pains as you attempt to define your own life as an adult.
