Bomb And Tattoo on Bomber
Bomber Has a Dreaded Heart Tattoo
I am sitting in the dining room at my teacher’s house with my English teacher, getting tutored. A screeching sound comes from the kitchen. A door opens but we don't know who is coming in. A teenage boy about 17 or 18 walks in, holding a bomb. He has green eyes and a tattoo on his forearm, a black heart with five colored hearts fading out in blue, green, purple, yellow and red. I ask him, "What are you doing here?" I was trembling. He doesn’t answer. The bomb has 38 seconds to count down. I don't know what made the boy set the bomb down and deactivate it, but he did. It had 12 seconds left and I was so scared, I thought I was going to die. As the boy walked out, I woke up and realized it was a dream.
Main Life Issues:
My mom has terminal cancer, haven't seen my brothers for three years and someone tried to rape me 4 yrs ago.
Scared, confused, shaky. The dream felt real.
It’s a story of a something drastic and horrible that is about to happen but turns out okay.
At teacher's home: The teacher indicates something to learn, a metaphor for life as a learning experience.
Screeching Sound: Sound that causes pain and gets others' attention; metaphor for how the dreamer feels.
A teenage boy: The dreamer is a teenager; a metaphor that life feels as if holding a bomb about to explode.
Ticking Bomb: Imminent danger, fear for one’s life.
A Heart Tattoo: The pain that is indelibly marked on your heart due to past and present eventis.
What it Means:
The dream mirrors how scary your life feels at the moment, which is understandable with all that’s going on. You feel as if everything you know could be destroyed. The end of the dream, though, shows that despite how drastic things are, your life turns out okay.
The dream is doing two things. It is putting you in touch with your fear and anxiety about the future. By noticing how scary life feels and naming those feelings, you can better deal with those fears. It is also an assurance that though you can’t control events, like the boy with a bomb, you're going to be okay.
Bottom Line: Hang on to that assurance.
