Two Dreams About Dead Relatives
Death of Close Family Member
A Close Family Member Dies
I am attending a funeral and when I get to the casket to view the body it is a close family member.
Main Life Issues:
Someone sees someone they love in a dire state.
As the greatest change we encounter, death is often a symbol of change.
What it Means:
On rare occasions dreams tell us about a future event. However, most dreams about death are about a major change as death is the biggest change we encounter. The dream tells you that a close family member will go through change. It can be a job change, illness etc. or a positive change such as moving far away that makes the dreamer sad.
Bottom Line: The dream is a heads up about change in a loved one’s life. Only time can tell what the actual change is, at least from this dream.
Death is an unknown that we fear so dreams about death feel scary. However, all dreams come with a helpful, constructive message.
Dream of Dead Relatives and Dead Fish
Dead Uncle, Dead Grandfather and Dead Fish
I dreamed that my dead relatives came back and talked to me. My deceased uncle and deceased grandfather had caught some fish and wanted me to cook them. I noticed the fish were small and not that many. My uncle said, “I know how small they are but that’s what we caught”; he then asked my sister to cook them but my sister angrily said “No, let her do it,” meaning me.
The scene changed to the front of my house. I was coming back from across the street and a dozen dark colored dogs ran out, barking and aggressive; my husband was in the background. At first I was startled then saw the dogs were kind of ignoring me, so I was no longer afraid. One great big curly, beautiful dog sat down in front of me and started talking to me, giving me advice, but I could not make out what it was telling me.
Startled, like I was missing something; puzzled, confused.
Main Life Issues:
Siblings and financial issues.
Loved ones give advice.
Dead relatives: Actual persons visiting from beyond; or, symbols of one’s heritage and values that give strength and guide us.
Fish though small and few: Sustenance, what can nurture; as a metaphor, suggests not getting much nurturing and not having much for self and others.
Sister says “let her do it”: Family responsibility that falls on the dreamer because others refuse to help.
Barking dogs: Discord that can feel threatening; metaphor for family discord.
Barking dogs ignore me: Realizing there is no danger; metaphor that family members may bark and spin their wheels, but don’t do harm.
Big beautiful dog talks to me: Advice given with love; feeling loved; a metaphor for a blessing that comes to you from your soul and/or deceased relatives, for your efforts with the family. A message that you are loved.
What the dream Means:
Your dead uncle and grandfather are symbols of help and advice.
Catching only a few little fish to cook suggest you have to make do with what you have. The words of your deceased uncle suggests to be grateful for what is there. Because you are the one who has to cook the fish, the dream shows you are the who has to look after others in the family.
The snarling dogs mirror what family interactions can feel like. Yet as you stay calm, things settle down and all is well. The dog that shows love and is a friend is a message assures you that you are loved, and things will turn around.
Bottom Line: As you stay calm and help your family, things will settle down and love will come your way.
