Dreams about Babies and Birth

HAPPY BABY GIRL. I had a dream that seemed like a nightmare. In the dream I had an adorable baby girl about 3-6 months old with pretty eyes and thick curly hair. I was playing with her feet and arms, she was such a loving and happy baby. She smiled and laughed, then I noticed she had diarrhea on the blanket. I went to change her and the diapers barely fit, she had outgrown them and there were no more diapers. I tried to put clothes on her but all I could find were clothes that were too small and mismatched items. The socks did not fit and the shoes were too tight. I went to my mom for help but she kept asking for money I owed her. I cried because neither my parents nor the baby's father would help.MAIN LIFE ISSUES: I’m a single, 31 year old female, still live at home with my parents. I have a long distance friend, we’ve talked about marriage and kids, particularly a girl. Are there any new projects, developments, romantic prospects?FELT HOW: Curious, anxiousSTORY LINE: Someone takes on a happy responsibility but find it is more than they can handle and receive no help from those who normally help.SYMBOLS:Baby: A new project, a long term responsibility. Clothes do not fit: Clothes as attitudes or what one needs on a daily level; in this case, a metaphor for a mis-match, what is not a fit. Diarrhea: Something not digesting well; metaphor for not being able to process something. WHAT IT MEANS:The dream shows you are offered something and want it. However, it also suggests you are not be prepared to handle it and those around you would not be supportive. BOTTOM LINE: The dream suggests you might love a new responsibility that crosses your path but you could get in over your head. Whether the dream relates to a work issue or a relationship, it hints that you may not be prepared for how much work and responsibility you would take on.
HAVING A BABY. I was in a deep sleep when I started dreaming. In the dream, I was expecting a baby. I was in the bed alone and could feel the child kick and was rolling side to side, trying to be comfortable. I rubbed my belly, smiling and happy, and felt the little person in side of me. I see myself go in to labor and have a little boy, seven pounds, nine ounces; I hold and kiss him. I woke up holding a pillow and rocking it.FELT HOW: Different, not like anything I’ve felt before.MAIN LIFE ISSUES: Nursing college student, single, everyone is having babies, no job.STORY LINE: Someone sees themselves having a wonderful new experience.SYMBOLS:Expecting a Baby: Creating life; something new and beautiful. In bed alone: On one’s own, independent.Could feel child kick: Aware of what is being created; feeling new life inside oneself.Rolling on one’s side: Trying to find one’s comfort zone.Going into labor: Natural process that brings desired results. Give birth to a little boy: Result of one’s labors; metaphor for creating something new with long-term responsibilities.WHAT IT MEANS:Dreams often answer questions that are on your mind or in your feelings, even if it’s an indirect “wondering.” You say everyone around you is having babies, so it’s possible you’ve wondered if it would ever happen to you; your dream gave you the answer: Yes, your first child will be a little boy. Such a dream can also be a metaphor for creating something beautiful, such as your career in nursing that is underway.BOTTOM LINE: At age twenty one and still in college, it is wise to finish school and get married before having a baby. The dream may be encouraging you to do both, telling you that in time, you will achieve all that is good and wonderful in your life.
A LONG AGO BIRTH. I had a dream of myself in a foreign country, much younger, and seeing myself after giving birth, with short hair. FELT HOW: The dream felt depressive.MAIN LIFE ISSUES: Work.STORY LINE: Someone sees themselves as they once were and is not happy.SYMBOLS:Giving Birth: Metaphor for new beginning with long term effects and responsibilities.Foreign country: Different location; exotic or adventurous place; or a place one does not connect to.Seeing self in foreign country: Feeling out of place; dislocated; or wishing to be elsewhere.Seeing younger version of oneself: Metaphor for what one used to be; remembering qualities and traits of one’s youth.Woman with short hair: Hair as thoughts and attitudes as what comes out of one’s head; short hair as not giving something enough thought or consideration; or, less on one’s mind, a lighter attitude. The time after giving birth: What it felt like to begin something new and have a lot to look forward to.WHAT IT MEANS:Dreams are about real life. This dream suggests you may long for a new beginning that recaptures feelings you had in earlier years. The dream shows how you once had what it takes to start fresh and to start something new. The dream hints that you need to reclaim those traits in yourself.BOTTOM LINE: If you want a new direction in life, the dream is an encouragement to find the strength of earlier years and go forward.
