Accidents & Car Crashes

SEE PLANE TAKE OFF THEN CRASH. I saw a plane taking off but the jets didn't look right, as if the fuel wasn't burning properly. Then I was in my mom’s car, she and I were driving on the freeway about to go over a major bridge. I see the plane again with its weird jets; it’s trying to turn around to get back to the airport, but falls out of the sky and lands in the middle of the bridge, making the bridge collapse and fall into the river below. I ask my mom to switch seats with me, have her drive even though she’s trying to tell me to "go on without me." In real life she is discovering major health issues and has to be on oxygen 24/7. I wasn't sure why we were switching seats. I instruct her to turn the car around and drive against the traffic to make sure we would not be on the part of the road that could collapse, then I woke up.FELT HOW: Confused. MAIN LIFE ISSUES: Age 22, mother has health problems, life is an issue. TWO STORY LINES:(a) Something can not go forward or back and does damage as they try to get to a safe place. (b) When someone sees that something is off and witnesses destruction, they take action to avoid further damage.SYMBOLS:Airplane takes off: A plane is a vehicle that can rise above, a metaphor for rising above something. Taking off is an attempt to rise above; in this case, the attempt fails.Fuel not burning properly: A flag for danger; a major dysfunction; a critical resource does not function properly.Bridge: What holds one above water, water as emotions and hence, what keeps emotions intact.Plane lands on bridge: Not able to go further; a crash, a sudden negative event.Bridge falls into water: Something secure is no longer safe.Switching seats: Taking another’s role; empowering another. Turning car around: Trying to avoid danger, save lives. WHAT IT MEANS:The dream sounds like a message about your mom’s health, a message about you observing and coping with what she has to go through and the challenges she may experience. In your mother’s mind, there may be a question about whether she will make it as a fear of dying, which you may be picking up in your dream. Whether her fears are based on a real possibility or not, the dream shows her trying to encourage you, just in case, through the words “go on without me.”Changing seats with your mom and making her take control and giving her directions is a metaphor for you becoming the caretaker for a while and helping her take the steps she needs in medical treatment.BOTTOM LINE: The dream invites you to become your mother's caretaker. The end of a dream often shows the next step and in this one you are the strong one giving orders. Your mom is your emotional bridge to safety, which her illness threatens, and you feel more vulnerable. It may be your turn to step up and be strong for both of you, for a while. PLANE CRASHES. As a student, I was getting advice from a college teacher about a class at school and we went outside. Because a screw hit my head, I looked up and saw a Cessna-like plane falling out of the sky. One wing was blown off. The plane crashed, exploding as it hit the ground.FELT HOW: Devastated, scared.MAIN LIFE ISSUES: College studies, specifically organic chemistry which I failed.STORY LINE: Someone witnesses a devastating experience.SYMBOLS:Advice from a teacher: An exchange regarding studies or one’s path in life.Going outside: Getting a wider perspective; being exposed to the elements.Screw hit my head: Something unusual gets someone’s attention; something that is out of place acts as a heads up.Plane crash: An attempt to rise above that ends badly; an event that fails in a drastic way.A loose screw: What is not working well; what is not going right or is out of place.A class at school: A message related to a school issue such as a course or a related to a general issue as “the course of life.”WHAT DREAM MEANS: The story points points to what is not stable and is off course which ends badly. It is a likely a heads up that mirrors the trouble about an actual college course that ended badly because you did not pay attention. Dreams exaggerate to make a point; the crash relates to failing a course, which hurts. However, it happens to many. You can relearn the material if necessary or change majors, learn from the experience, and move along. ME & HUSBAND IN PLANE CRASH. My husband and I are waiting to take off in a plane. The engine starts, we take off, then we crash and die. In the dream, we are always together. We travelled with the children only once. I have been having this dream for about a year. FELT HOW: Afraid, scared, ashamed.LIFE ISSUES: Married with three very young children.STORY LINE: Something ends very badly.SYMBOLS:Plane Crash: Something takes off but has a drastic ending.Waiting: Wanting something to happen, to move forward.Plane taking off: Something rises above; in this case, metaphor for trying to rise above a situation. We die: Death as a metaphor for a drastic change, in this case, a warning that the relationship may be spiraling downward and could end. WHAT IT MEANS:Most dreams are symbolic, so the event that ends badly may be a project, financial venture, or a relationship, not a warning about a plane crash. The description of feeling ashamed is a hint about the true meaning of the dream. It makes sense to feel afraid, but why do you feel ashamed since you have no control over an airplane? The feeling of shame hints that something makes you feel bad, such as troubles with your husband. BOTTOM LINE: Dream warns that relationship could come to an unexpected, bad end if you continue on the same track. However, warnings often arrive in time to turn things around. If change how you interact, destructive path you are on could alter. CAR CRASH. This guy I am crazy about gets into a terrible car wreck and is hurt really bad. His brother calls me and tells me about it. I freak out and rush to the hospital. His whole family is standing around, crying as doctors say he probably is not going to make it. He is totally unresponsive and his heart rate is very low. I go over to him in his hospital bed, grab his hand and start rubbing his arm. I tell him I am there and I need for him to be okay, and he squeezes my hand, back. I say to the doctor, "I thought you said he was unresponsive?" The doctor says he was, up until then. Then his heart rate starts to go back up. His family continues to cry but they are now smiling, they are tears of joy. As I look down at his face and smile, a tear falls down my cheek and I wake up.FELT HOW: Devastated.MAIN LIFE ISSUES: Guy breaks my heart, need money, kids are disrespectful.STORY LINE: It’s a story about someone who needs healing and even though those in charge give up on them, they find what they need, which brings joy.SYMBOLS: Guy you love: Symbol of someone you love, what you crave. Car crash: Something that ends badly, creating devastation.A hospital: A place of healing; a metaphor for wanting to heal.Family members: Loved ones, in this case, those who care.Squeeze someone’s hand: Reaching out to someone who is not responsive. A signal of caring.Heart rate increases: What regulates life, gives us life; in this dream, a metaphor for finding love.WHAT THE DREAM MEANS:Most dreams are about you, the dreamer. The dream is not about the man you are crazy about – he is a symbol of your own strength that you need to embrace despite the pain that you are experiencing. You are the emotional car wreck who needs healing. The dream shows that in the end, you do find strength, love and the healing you need.BOTTOM LINE: The first step in healing is to accept where you are at, get in touch with your strength and do what you can. The dream invites you to move forward and if you do, it hints that you will find love and happiness.
