Children

DEFENDING YOUNG SON: I saw my son younger than he is now; he was a toddler again and I was worried he’d get hurt playing with two rough kids next door. I heard my son crying but could not find him. I was mad at my son’s father and then at my current boyfriend; I was yelling, asking my dead grandparents to kick them out. My boyfriend was shooting darts at me then tried to run away; I was yelling at my dad to stop him and wanted to hurt him back.FELT HOW: Panicked, scared, hurt afterwards.STORY LINE: It’s a story about defending something tender and precious that is important to you and trying to enlist the help of reliable men and people in your life to accomplish that.SYMBOLS:Son as toddler: Someone in a tender state; being vulnerable.Shouting for help: Standing up for yourself.Grandparents, father: Loved ones you rely on for help.WHAT IT MEANS:The dream is a message about self assertion and protecting yourself. Your son represents your current vulnerability; life may have thrown many challenges at you lately, so you are mobilizing all the strength you can find in self. The dream also points out issues of anger and feeling hurt that you may need to deal with. BOTTOM LINE: The dream shows you standing up for yourself, like a practice session; it tells you that you have the resources to handle whatever crosses your path. SCOLDING CHILD:In my dream, someone touched my ear. I awake and see a lady standing near a child. She bends to admonish the child and says, “You should not have done that.” The child tells her that she is very pretty. The lady takes the child’s hand and begins to walk away and I follow them. It is intense; I am so aware, almost like a lucid dream. [NOTE: A lucid dream is when you are dreaming and you notice that you are dreaming.]FELT HOW: Almost lucid, was paying close attention. MAIN LIFE ISSUES: Money concerns and at age 67, changes in my way of life.STORY LINE: Someone guides another about the meaning of limits.SYMBOLS:Touching ear: A play one words for “getting one’s ear” as in getting the dreamer’s attention.Child is scolded: Someone in authority gives guidance. The words, “You should not have done that”: Pointing out limits that were crossed. Because of your money concerns, these words suggest that overspending is an issue you need to address. The words, “She is very pretty”: Suggests that issues related to beauty or superficial items like clothes, cosmetics, beauty treatments may be budget items on which you can set limits.Woman leads child away: A willingness to accept guidance.I follow: The dreamer’s sleeping minf becomes aware of receiving the message and makes a choice to take the advice that is presented.WHAT THE DREAM MEANS:You may have retired or may be in transition, financially. This lucid dream assures you that if you create a budget which limits or cuts non-essentials, your finances will work out.BOTTOM LINE: Financial stability is in your own hands. DEATH OF FIANCÉ’S CHILDREN: My fiancé has three children by two different mothers. The middle daughter lives with us, an older daughter is with her mum and the youngest, a son, is with the other mum. In my dream we move to the small town where my fiancé grew up because he gets a fantastic job offer there. In the dream his father still lives in the town but is moving out of his big house into a smaller one, so we are moving into the big house. As we unpack, we see a newspaper article that both of his other children have died in separate circumstances. It was very vivid, sad and extremely disturbing. FELT HOW: Heart broken, scared, scared for my fiancé.MAIN LIFE ISSUES: Financial, relationship, supporting elderly parents. Badly behaved children. STORY LINE: Someone starts out with favorable transitions then encounters painful circumstances. SYMBOLS: Death: Generally a symbol for change, great change.Child, children: Often a symbol for new projects, new beginnings, new energies, and on-going or long term responsibilities. Since the children in this dream meet an unhappy end, it can refer to hopes that are dashed, related to new ventures.Move back to town where grew up: Getting back to one’s roots, reestablishing values or standards.Move to a big house: A new space, excellent opportunities.WHAT IT MEANS:The dream is not a message about your fiancé’s children or their death. Dreams often foreshadow changes on the horizon; this one hints that excellent opportunities will come your ways such as a new home or work advancement, whether for you or your fiancée. However, there will also be painful challenges or circumstances that are beyond your control. If the dream were about death or illness, it more likely relates to the elderly parents you are supporting, or to other challenging, unforeseen events.BOTTOM LINE: The dream speaks of opportunity but ones that come with change and challenge as a heads up to prepare for a roller coaster ride.
CHILD NEEDS HELP DURING ECLIPSE: I was at work and one of the children had the chicken pox. It made her really sick so I went inside to find medicine. When I looked back outside, it was pitch black and someone told me it was an eclipse. I had to stumble around in the dark looking for medicine, and meanwhile the child was dying. I was crying in the dream and when I woke up, I was crying as well.FELT HOW: Panicky.MAIN LIFE ISSUES: Trouble at work; I work in a child care Centre.STORY LINE: Something one can handle becomes worse than usual and goes horribly wrong. SYMBOLS:Eclipse: Darkness, hiding what’s there.Sick child: Something vulnerable that needs help.Dying due to lack of medicine: Change; a huge change due to lack.WHAT IT MEANS:It’s said that we pre-dream everything of importance that happens to us. Since you work with children, if someone has symptoms that look unmanageable, it may behoove you to call for an ambulance or bring the child in for immediate medical attention. The eclipse image suggests that there are hidden factors that need to come to light. However, the story can also be a metaphor rather than a warning. In that case, the dream would portray a circumstance that needs more help and attention than is available. BOTTOM LINE: Either way, the dream is a heads up about something needs help.
