CAR SINKS INTO A LAKE—THE DREAM:
My husband and I are in a car with a couple of other people; the car is on a frozen lake. We are in the back seat and someone else is driving. As soon as I realize we are on a frozen lake, I panic. I tell my husband we should get out of the car but he does not agree and keeps telling the driver to keep going. I panic and tell him to get out, but he does not listen. Finally, I get out of the car alone and run to land. As soon as I reach land, I turn and see that the car is moving on the ice; and a few seconds later the ice breaks and the car starts to sink. My husband rolls down the windows and tries to get out but within seconds, the car sinks completely.
FELT HOW: Scared, trembling with fear as I woke up. Couldn't go back to sleep.
MAIN LIFE ISSUES: All is generally okay.
STORY LINE: When someone notices trouble and sounds the alarm, no one listens so they try to save self and a loved one but can only save self.
Husband: Someone in charge such as a manager or boss; can be the strong side of self in woman's dream.
Driving car on a frozen lake: Something is not where it belongs; an undertaking that cannot be sustained; the wrong tool for a goal.
In a back seat of car: Someone is not in charge, not in control.
Warn but does not listen, does not agree: Someone sounds the alarm but cannot convince others of impending danger.
I get out alone and run to land: Someone saves themselves because they have no other choice.
Husband rolls window down, tries to get out: Someone sees the truth but it is too late.
Ice breaks, car sinks: Witnessing a disaster that was anticipated.
WHAT THE DREAM MEANS:
The dream is not about your husband; it is about a professional situation and in this case, your husband is likely a Symbols for someone who is in charge such as a boss or a manager.
The story suggests that you notice something off kilter at work, either now or coming up, as a project or responsibility that will not work out because conditions are not right. For example, the proper tools, time or circumstance are not at hand. It shows you try to warn them but those in charge ignore your input and you have no choice but to watch them go forward.
However, the dream also shows that you have the good sense to extricate yourself from the project; so, although others endure the consequences of their poor judgment, you will not be among the losers.
BOTTOM LINE: The story suggests that you cannot save the others, because they do not want to hear the warnings and do not want your help. But you can save yourself and your reputation by distancing yourself from a situation that is not solid or well grounded. When you notice that a project or a circumstance may be headed for trouble, back away and protect yourself.
CAR IS SABOTAGED—THE DREAM:
I dreamed someone intentionally did something to my car. I took the car to visit people I knew and I guess one of them was mad at me and tried to sabotage my car so it could never run again. I did not find out till my dad noticed it was acting up as we drove to his house, but the car was still running.
FELT HOW: Disturbed
STORY LINE: Someone tries to undermine and hurt another, but their deception is discovered.
Car: What gets you where you want to go.
Sabotage: Someone who tries to harm in hidden ways.
WHAT IT MEANS:
The dream tells you to watch out for underhanded dealings in a relationship. In this dream, your father may be a Symbols of your own wise self. Is there anyone who would like to hurt you or get revenge in some way?
Dreams exaggerate to make a point and speak in metaphors, so it's not likely that anyone will actually attack your car. They can, however, try to hurt you by malicious communications or underhanded actions.
BOTTOM LINE: The good news is that you detect whatever is going on. Since the end of the dream shows you and the car are okay, they don't succeed.
CARS TRY TO KILL ME—THE DREAM:
I am walking down the street and two cars come out of nowhere and try to hit me and kill me. They miss but say they will get me the next time. Later I’m walking with my mom and the cars appear again. I push my mom out of the way and become pinned between two cars.
FELT HOW: It felt real.
MAIN LIFE ISSUES: I always have to do everything for my husband.
STORY LINE: Someone is threatened and feels stuck.
Car: A tool to get somewhere; a Symbols of power or a person (car as vehicle with which we go through life).
Cars come out of nowhere: An unpredictable, unexpected event.
Cars try to hit and kill me: Misuse of power, misuse of tools.
Missed but says will get me next time: A deliberate threat.
Push mom out of harm’s way: Instinctively protecting loved ones.
Pinned between two cars: Stuck, in danger; an extreme threat.
WHAT THE DREAM MEANS:
The dream mirrors how your relationship makes you feel and possibly the way it actually is; make sure you are not in any physical danger.
The dream invites you to find your strength so that you can assert yourself and stand up for yourself without feeling threatened. If doing so puts you in danger, it is a clue to get out of the relationship.
BOTTOM LINE: Don't be an emotional doormat. Being a doormat is not healthy for either partner.
I BOARD AN AIRPLANE AT THE LAST MINUTE—THE DREAM:
I was running as I was chased at an airport. I arrived at the gate; the plane was about to take off. The steward let me in so I was able to catch it. I left my shoe behind but was so excited that I caught the plane.
FELT HOW: In the dream I felt good.
MAIN LIFE ISSUES: Career
STORY LINE: Someone feeling vulnerable boards a plane at the last minute.
Being chased: Feeling vulnerable.
Losing shoe: In this dream, a metaphor for letting go of something comfortable and safe.
WHAT IT MEANS:
The dream is a heads up about a new opportunity that comes your way at the last minute and is something you love. Feeling elated at boarding shows that it is a happy event such as career advancement or reaching a cherished goal.
BOTTOM LINE: Being chased suggests you may feel vulnerable at present, but when the new opportunity arises, previous circumstances will no longer matter. Like putting a comfortable pair of old shoes aside, you will let go of what is past and head happily into the new.
