Lake of Fire Recurring Dream
I Find Myself In a Lake of Fire
This is a recurring dream that happens a few times a month.I walk into a lake, the country side is normal. The only strange thing about the lake is that is has lava rock which is on fire. As I walk, I burn and keep burning until I am a skeleton and my bones are charred. Then I start all over again and this repeats a couple times.
Felt compelled to walk forward despite the pain.
Main Life Issues:
High school stress, money issues, fear of failing my parents
It’s a story of transformation as one moves forward over challenging terrain.
Country Side: A peaceful place; where one hangs out.
Lake: A body of water, water is often a symbol of emotions.
Lava rock: Lava is associated with a volcano, which suggests a lot of fiery, explosive activity beneath the surface; in this case, such activity likely represents the turmoil you feel inside as a teen, that is not visible to others.
On fire: Fire can be a symbol of destruction, or cleansing, or testing.
Walking on Fire: Metaphor for challenges, meeting large challenges.
Skeleton: Being stripped down; the structure that holds you up.
Charred Bones: Bones are what hold a structure together; charred bones describe damage to the structure.
What it Means:
At age seventeen, the demands of parents and the world can feel very challenging. The dream shows that you willingly take up those challenges and despite side effects of pain etc, you continue forward. Bravo. It shows that growing up feels painful at present, and emotionally, you feel the damage, yet are able to cope and go on.
Bottom Line: The dream shows the process of transforming from a teenager into a young man. It is very challenging and one must accept life’s limitations and what comes with it, the pain. Yet the rewards of becoming an empowered adult in time, are worth it.
